Had the Debut at the university last night, which was a celebration of black history month. Was really busy (all seats were filled) and the acts and presentations were great !! The guest speaker who works at "Bridges of Hope" here in town, was from Ghana and his speech was extremely motivating and moving. Everything came together perfectly even though some of the organizers said that there were a few problems. Wouldn't see any though. Really good thing about it all there was an awesome mix of young, old, black, white, asian and other types of people there.

Studio 54 was the designated afterparty place. Had close to 200 in there I figured and Josh and I played nothing but music to accommodate our black friends. The vibe was electric and very positive. I really can't until next year.

Usually I don't like snow, but today was different. It was the REALLY fluffy stuff, where you can actually see the snowflakes and the crystals and all. Truly beautiful. By the way, these are actual images of REAL snowflakes.

Saw THE worst parallel driver yesterday. I was about to get out of my car and ask him if he needed assistance. Now I'm not claiming to be the best (far from it) but after his first attempt, which he went straight in on an angle, and his 2nd attempt which he straightened out but was about 5 feet from the curb, it was too comical to watch. I should've stayed in my van and watched him for a while. However I had to go to mom's for supper. Too funny. He must have gotten his driver's license in a box of cracker Jack. :)

Tonight kicked ass. Started off slow but dance floor was insane. I honestly didn't think it was going to be that busy, with it being reading week and all. Got some good news today. My roommate's boyfriend is going to put my dj business, Prime Entertainment, on his MMA shorts in his upcoming fight next month. All I have to do is some stuff for him and it's good to go. Woooooo~!! Thanks Ryan !!
Just a quick supplemental to Tuesday night. Going to pool league, I almost hit an owl ! Thing was huge! I would've knicked him in the top right corner of my window had I hit him.

Ok just a follow up to Valentine's day. When I left work after Saturday night, there was a police officer arresting some native girl. He was having some problems as she was squirming lots. Long story short, there was a total of 4 cop cars in front and 2 more in the vicinity and on their way there as I noticed them on my way to Red Dog diner. The fun didn't stop there. The security guard at the diner was forcing a customer out. I'm not sure what the reason may have been, but she was animate about getting him out. I bought my poutine and headed home. Love was definitely NOT in the air that night.

Sunday long weekend was busy. REALLY busy. Had the Kokanee Glacier girls there as well, walking around and handing out prizes. We gave away a ski trip, a snowboard and a bunch of other things, but the trip and board were drawn prizes, or so I thought. In fact, the draw was fixed. Nothing against a draw being rigged for certain 'good' customers to win, but come on. When the owner of another bar, who doesn't even want the prize, and is standing right next to the dj booth when I call the winning number wins, it looks horrible. Whatever... Needless to say that me and Chris got into a bit of a disagreement about it. We sort of cleared things up the following day, but not sure where it'll all end up from that particular event.

Did nothing really on Monday but get paid from my jobs. Went to Essie's at night for Dani's pre-birthday celebration.

Sadness: I was supposed to go on a dinner date with Tanya, then to the movies with Caylee. But as per usual, Tanya never called like she said she was going to (maybe she had to work) and Caylee had to give me a raincheck. Sigh....

Happy Valentine's Day !! Ok, it's one of my most hated days because of all the commercialism associated to it. It's almost as bad as Christmas. But if guys wanna spend a boat load of money on their special someone, then so be it. I myself think it should be about the quality of time you spend with your mate on this day. Probably the reason why I'm still single. ;)

Actually I read up on good ol' St. Valentine and how the day came to be. Here's a link from the wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valentine%27s_Day

Very interesting to say the least.

Complaint: I have a problem now with modern day culture and the 'fist pound' instead of a handshake. The person doing the 'fist pound' as his hello, should make it obviously clear from the beginning that this is what he is doing. Then If I offer a handshake at the same time, well it looks ridiculous. Now what really erks me, is that if the error is made by the recipient on the mix-up of hand gestures, then the offerer should stay on the original gesture made (the 'fist pound' or handshake) and the recipient would change his gesture. Sounds confusing I know but there's gotta be some sendse to it somehow.

Monday my day off. Overall it went pretty good. Paid my bills, watched my hockey team lose, and went to go see a movie with Stacy and Trevor. Coraline was absolutely amazing. In new age 3-D and it's the stop-motion animation. I give it a total of 9.5 for amazing film work, visuals (some of the 3D shots were breathtaking), story and music. Definitely one of the best films I have EVER seen.

Time to go to sleep now. Hopefully I won't be in a war or get shot like last night.

Changed my tire on Saturday. Only the 3rd ever in my life. Hopefully no more for a while. :)

Blarney was SLOW on Sunday but oh well. Nothing I can do about it. I promote in house and to people outside of house, up to the owners now.

Dream sequence: Don't really remember much of it at all, but the just before I woke up, I remember being at my parent's place and shooting across the street with a gun (handgun) and there was a swat team guy shooting back at me with a full automatic. I did get hit. Then woke up. Freaky experience.

Worked tonight at Scores but had a flat tire, so I couldn't take my van to work and had to call a cab. Called Kustom Kabz, a newer cab company in town, for the ride. Since they came into Studio 54 when I worked, I figure call them up and return the favor. Well both the trip there and back, I don't think I've ever been that scared in a cab ride. Driver was doing 80 Km/hr which normally isn't that bad, on DRY pavement. Unfortunately it was snow covered and I was sure that we were going to get into an accident. We didn't but not sure about calling them next time though....

So a few days ago, they finally got the grater and cleared away the ice that was in front of my house. I actually had to get up around 8 or 9 AM and move my vehicle to do that. Good job city, only 6 weeks too late. Grrr......

So, I ordered take out from Tacotime on Tuesday like usual. When I got home however, there was a problem, I was shorted one taco. I call up the store and explain my predicament and the girl gets all my information and says that they'll mail me out a gift certificate. I don't want a GC for what, $1.29?? Why can't I just come in next week, and it's always the same people working, and not charge me for one next week? Sigh....

Had my first night at Scores on Friday, however they had their grand opening at the north side location that night, so it wasn't busy at the south side one. No worries. I'll still not be used to not having a dancefloor. Saturday, Josh called me to MC their brand new Saturday night promotion: $2.75 whatever you like. So whether it's an import beer, highball, premium or shot, it's only $2.75. Now we just gotta get people in there. However we did have over a hundred so it was ok. I ended up covering Josh as he went home sick around 12:30. Hope you feel better bud.

Sunday night at Blarney was actually good. Really good post Super Bowl crowd and me and Opi rocked. I tell ya, me and Robyn did MANY shots and I hope she's feeling ok today. ;)

And finally I wanna say thanks to my friends. Without them, I think I'd be lost. They know who they are.
