I officially hate Christmas. I don't like the fact that I spend money that I don't have or can't really spend, I'm bothered by useless people racing to get that last minute gift item, I lose out on work hours, which means less pay because of the holiday and I can't really relax because of all the above. Oh, but it's a time to enjoy with the family. Yeah sure whatever. I'm going to see my daughter, hang out for a bit, and the next day I spend it with my mom and brother, and that's about it. Conversation drops to a snails pace. Sigh.

On the lighter and happier side, that crazy cold snap we had (even currently which is -15 or so), my car has never been better. I LOVE my car starter. Thank you Bob !!!

It was busy at Essies tonight. We lose Thursday at Studio because of the holiday but are back in the swing on Saturday. At least from what I hear, people are saying it's the place to be now. And that makes me happy. Vince, Josh, Chad and everyone else has put their time and effort into it and they're seeing the rewards now. 2010 coming up soon. What DOES the future hold for me?

Had our Studio 54 Xmas staff party tonight. It was a fun filled affair with pre-supper snacks and drinks. Then we had Chinese food for supper which was fantastic. Finally topping it off with a gift exchanged which went quite good. Had more drinks and had a good time and even danced a little. Towards the end though, I kind of got stuck in the dj booth which was ok with me, on a personal reason. Let's hope it works out well for me.... :)

Yep the weather came back and is being a total tart again this weekend. Not as cold as last Monday but cold enough. Have our Studio 54 Christmas staff party tonight. My date that I was supposed to bring backed out on me and I'm left with nobody yet again. Sigh........

Dream: Bizarre dream of a social event of some sort. I remember the 2nd half of it, of my computer sitting on a desk and catching on fire. So I let it burn as I couldn't put it out and went to get some food. So busy at this restaurant I went to. More of like a pizza place. They were so swamped that they were serving individual slices to people going through an automated drive through. Then a little bit later, I went to check on my computer again, tried starting it up, and amazingly it did. The strangest part of the whole dream I think was the end, where I was at a summer type fair concert. It was a country act, and everyone was inside waiting for the show to start. I get on the mic and did a grand intro for them, and got no response from the crowd. They almost seemed pissed off that it started so late. Then whoever the organizers were, decided to move them outside. After I asked a friend of mine that was there why everyone seemed distant in their reactions he said that they were upset about the whole thing, and getting moved outside was the topping of the cake. Not sure what this dream is supposed to mean...

COLD !!! BRRRR........

I hate cold weather. no matter how much I dress for it. Monday night, apparently we set a record for the coldest city in Canada. At 3 AM, after I got off work I went home and checked the weather network. It was -39 C regular temperature and with the wind chill it was -51 C. -51 C ?!? What the f*ck is that !!! Needless to say if I don't have to go out, I'm not. It's warmed up considerably throughout the week, and this weekend it's supposed to plunge into the deep freeze temperatures again. UGH !!!

Question: Why can't they get the city guys to clear the snow from the middle of the road at night when traffic is a lot less?

Long time no blog ! Where you been hiding ?! LOL

Well it would seem that winter is in full swing now. We just got a ton of snow dumped on us here on Friday. Blizzard like conditions as blowing snow and cold temps made for havoc. I went to mom's to attempt to clean off the driveway, but I got about halfway done. Whenever I would clean off a section, the wind would start to fill it up again with snow. I was beat by the elements. So I drove home, crawled into bed and went to sleep.

This weather makes useless people drive even worse. All those jackasses in their big trucks, and SUVs think they're better than the rest of us by driving at high speeds on bad roads. Screw you all and hope bad fortune rains, or in this context, snows on your parade !!

Sunday, November 15, 2009

Well another week has passed. A few things of interest happened. Work at Essies was ok. Me and Lisa butted heads but if it happens again I'll tell her where to go and how to get there. I almost feel sorry for her. She's so arrogant and will die a miserable old hag. :) Tuesday I shot my first 40 in pool league. Felt good. Got a few breaks but overall shot really good. And then off to work on Tuesday night. Since Wednesday was Rememberence Day, and most people didn't have class or work the next day, they came out to party. Studio was decent, not overly busy but comfortable and the crowd that we had, danced a lot, which was nice. I heard Scores was packed and stupid which I guess was good as well.

Thursday was a great day. Went to the KISS concert with Erin Ko. She drove up and I drove back. Got into Calgary around 4:30 PM or so and headed to Joey Tomatoe's in Eau Claire Square. A usual place for me to dine at when I go to Calgary and Erin hadn't been. I had a blackened fish and glass of wine and she had a tuna salad, and we both had Chinese wraps for an appetizer. Fantastic everything from the waiter to the meal to the atmosphere. Including the very sexy hostess. 6'2'' modelesque brunette.

Then off to the concert we went. Met up with Kerry and Aaron at the lounge downstairs before hand then we headed up. Waited in line for merchandise and practically missed all of Buckcherry, but did end up catching their last song. Meh, average performance I guess. Bit of an intermission then KISS came on. Showtime started at 9 and was over at 11 PM. True performers. Incredible show, with pyrotechnics, smoke, lights and a few surprises. Gene Simmons getting hoisted up to the light truss, Paul Stanley getting zip lined to the other side of the Saddledome by the sound stage. And the big finale of them getting hoisted up on hydraulic lifts above the stage. Truly a great show I'm glad I went to. We drove back and got back into town around 2 AM.

Saturday at Studio was our Graffiti Party. First 100 people or so through the front door got white Studio 54 drinking team shirts and a sharpie and they could sign each other. Great promotion and hope we do it again. Really good crowd and they danced it up.

Monday, November 9, 2009

Saturday was my friend Ryan's wedding. Day started at 8:30 AM. Ugh, early morning....how I loathe you !! Went for breakfast with all the guys of the wedding party, so Ryan, me, Ryan's brother, the best man Spencer, and Ryan's dad. After a hearty breakfast, we went to the hall to set up and move the booze. It didn't take too long and we were all home by a reasonable time. I even grabbed a an extra hour of sleep too :)

So made my way back at 2 PM as the ceremony part was at 2:30. Spencer still hadn't arrived but all the others were there. Found out later that he forgot the ring in his coat pocket that he wore the day before. He didn't put it in his suit jacket. DOH !! He made it back around 2:35 so it was decently later. Amber was getting a bit impatient, LOL.

Ceremony was wham bam and done within about 15 min. We left the hall and went for pictures at the Lethbridge Lodge. Were there for close to 2 hours and then back at the downstairs of the Keg for the supper and reception. The place looked phenomenal. And the food was divine. Hands down to the Country kitcken catering for making it a great night. I had a few drinks and overall a good time. Congrats Ryan and Amber.

Relaxed on Sunday and back to the grind on Monday.

Thursday, November 5, 2009

So I haven't logged in quite some time. Been busy with the move and work and such. All finished now just settling in. My whole freakin' sleep schedule has been flipped upside down, but sort of decent waking up earlier and going to bed at a reasonable time as well.

Hallowe'en was smokin' busy. No real problems except for a small fight earlier, but some of the costumes were great. Best male was a guy dressed up as Wall-E, best female was the orange Monarch buttefly, and best group went to the Sesame Street crew, although Dog the Bounty Hunter and wife (my friends Aiden and Crystal) looked great and could have won as well.

My friend Ryan's wedding this weekend. I actually don't have to dj at it. Should be a good one. Can't remember last wedding I attended or participated in , where I didn't dj for it. And I hope that Ryan doesn't think I will either, because I'm not :)

Can't get a hold of Brad. Stupid damage that he caused at the old place, gonna cost a pretty penny to fix. He needs to compensate me....

And finally what is with people that screw me over trying to be my friend. Got a request from DJ Otto, the yahoo that took my job at Blarney, to be my friend on Facebook. Now why would I do that?? You took my job jackass ~! Or like Lee Ford asking me to join his Facebook group. Um, you still owe me money loserboy. Now, pardon the pun, fuck off!!!

Thursday, October 29, 2009

So did my first part of my move to the West side place today. Unfortunately I'm sick and feel like crap. Gotta work tonight. Might skip playing YPP and get a good night's sleep to do some major moving tomorrow, to be finished on Saturday. God, my life sucks....

Observation: I think I mentioned it before but I really do think that people need to retake their driver's exam again. I saw 2 different people not signal when changing lanes, and one ass turned two corners and both times didn't signal. FFS !!!

Monday, October 26, 2009

Well I survived my birthday this year. A lot of well wishers and a few drinks which was very nice. Thursday was a good night at Studio. Josh rocked the house as usual and Friday at Scores (my birthday) was slow, but Opi, Trevor, and their girlfriends came in and it was all good. I did nothing on Sunday and Essies is closed for renovations until Wednesday. So no work for me until Thursday. Good time to move, get my stuff sorted and my life figured out :)

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

So the bar scene is becoming stupid. In the past 1 full week (from last Monday to this Monday), there have been two major fights and a quad stabbing. Last Monday at Essies, Big black Anthony, who was drunk out of his skull, apparently sucker punched some kid in the bathroom, then this Monday, some dutch guy got his head stomped after being punched outside of Essies. And this past Saturday, of course the quadruple stabbing. Apparently, the culprit (s) ran away and 2 of the victims are in critical condition in Calgary hospital. I do think it's time for me to really get out of the bar scene. There won't be a scene left soon.....

Monday, October 19, 2009

Saw something the other day, that made me ponder something. When you post a notice for a steamroller driver, what would it say? Wanted: must enjoy taking life at a very slow pace. LOL

Sunday, October 18, 2009

Well my last wedding of the season was yesterday and it didn't disappoint. My friend Rob, which I worked with at Scores, had a mini reception as they got married previously in BC, about 3 weeks prior. Slow start but once the booze kicked in, well they danced and sang and had a grand old time. Food was all homemade Chinese food which was unbelievable (I even took some home) and the booze was good as well. After the party, which was at the Galt museum, I went to Studio for a quick wrap up there. Decent party still and I stayed there until 3 AM. Left and on the way home I saw a ton of lights from emergency vehicles and police cars outside of the Roadhouse. So I decide to investigate a bit further. Went down the side street by Soundgarden and saw 3 ambulances (I also heard one in the far distance) and about 3 cop cars. The place was more lit up than Times Square in New York on New Years Eve. Anyways, found out that 3 people got stabbed. Yikes!! What has this industry become. I'll find out more when I talk to Tinordi tomorrow.

Observation: Went walking through Walmart today, and low and behold was a funny sight to see. 2 big burly men, standing and sniffing air fresheners, deciding on the best 'scent'. Quite comical acutally.

Comment: I think people should retake driver's tests on a more regular basis. But not with the instructor in the car. Have them follow behind and observe. I've seen more people NOT lane change. It's a simple 2-3 inch movement with your fingers. Is it that hard to do. I betcha there would be more violations for failure to signal for a lane change than anything else. There is a reason why I don't like driving int he day time. Most of the drivers are useless.

Sunday, October 11, 2009

Happy Thanksgiving !! I'd like to give thanks:

That I have my health, that I still have family, and that I'm still doing what I love to do.

Friday, October 9, 2009

Well we got snow, more like a blizzard yesterday. It's not overly cold, but it is about -4 and it covered everything. Ugh. But in about 2 weeks, I get a new car starter, which will help alleviate the misery of a cold winter morning.

It was a very busy night at Studio tonight. Toxyk was feeling a bit ill tonight but the dance floor was rockin ALL night. Get well mate.

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

Pathetically slow last night at Essies. I guess with the students writing midterms and the cool weather, not a lot came out. But the crowd that was there was still a bit freaky. Weird requests and they were just stupid. But still had some fun.

Monday, October 5, 2009

Had yet another staff meeting, this time at Studio 54. I think that this has been my 50th or so in my bar career. Went ok, and talked about the usual stuff. Then we had a bit of a staff party afterwards. I, myself had 2 drinks but there were some loaded people by the end of the night. Had a staff poker game. Which I happened to win ! First tourny, first win. Look out Vegas, here I come !! LOL

Sunday, October 4, 2009

Well my ankle is still freakin sore but it should be expected. I rolled it somewhat fierce. Anyways, did my 2nd last wedding of the season. Heather's at the Polish hall. Nothing fancy but it was a good fun crowd. Was there from 4-12:30 then I went to Studio to join the fun there. A couple of chick fights later, then night had come to a close. Boy, was I tired. So I was making my way across the street to my van, when I noticed a black truck parked down the street, which was parked sort of beside the Express coffee house, screech it's tires in a reverse direction. It came to a stop about 10 feet away and I'm thinking gee, it almost hit that parked car that was parked beside it. Next thing I see, it goes forward, hops the curb and is heading straight toward another parked car which is parked in the lot. I'm thinking what the hell is going on, he's gonna hit it. Sure enough, WHAM ! Hits it, he gets out, looks at the damage, gets back in, reverses it back to the street then takes off. Well at this point I'm on the phone with the police, and only got a partial license plate. Police came and I gave my statement, then came home. Wow what a finish to a night!!

Woke up early for some reason on Sunday, feeling like absolute junk, stayed awake for a few hours then wen t back to sleep. Had a very bizarre dream but when I awoke, felt refreshed.

Dream sequence: Not sure how it started but took place in a parking lot and there were a bunch of my friends there. The main thing I remember at the end of it was this cannon off in the distance, shooting brightly colored cannon balls. The balls were about the size of a small 5 pin bowling ball, but the colors were a hard, bright enamel color. Yellow, Red, Green. There really was no specific direction it was firing in and was more of an arc than straight on type of shot. So we did have time to get away. But it did cause panic because nobody knew how to shut it off. And it did cause a lot of damage. That's about all I can remember.

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

I took a thrashing today at Floor hockey. Rolled my right ankle, stepping on the ball and then later on in the game took a shot off the left one. Sheesh. It hurts to walk, but shouldn't be too bad. But I did score a beautiful highlight reel goal before it all happened.

It's getting cold. Tonight is supposed to hit in the minus digits. BRRRR. I'd like to say that I wish I could move to Australia, but they are getting far worse weather there.

So excited too, hockey season starts tomorrow !! GO Habs GO !!

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Worked my 3rd last wedding of the season last night. A complete contrast from a week ago. This one, Ashley Pasowisty's, was more of a mix and mingle one where there wasn't a lot of dancing. More of a social atmosphere where everyone got a chance to get caught up with those they haven't seen in a very long time. Ashley said that the music was really good and at times I saw some of the people at their tables singing and bopping their heads to the tunes, so I guess it was all good. Finished up at 12:30 then packed up, and headed to Studio 54 just in time to do the judging for the Mardi-Gras contest. :) I didn't see any boobies though and the place was pretty decent, and even a few people from the past which I haven't seen in a very long time.

One month left in my current place. God, I'm moving again. But should be a little more stable at least for a year now, living with Dani and Josh on the West side. Rent will only be $300/month for each of us, plus about $100/month for utilities each. That's not bad, especially with me not working as much as before, but unfortunately it's the West side. Hopefully my next move will be one of my last, when I get my own place, and a stable policing job somewhere.

Monday, September 21, 2009

End of September already. Ugh.... Where did the summer go? Oh well.....

DJed Tiffany's wedding on Saturday. Was one of the best weddings I have ever done, and one of the top 10 dj nights ever. They kept dancing and singing, was tremendous fun.

On a different note, still have to talk to the yahoos at Scores about what the hell they're doing for Wednesdays and Sundays. They should get their ass in gear if they want to make a go of it for those nights.

Observation: Drove past a guy the other day, who stood beside a sign saying 'Willing to work'.... What the fuck is that?! Get off your ass and go apply for a job. He's that lazy that he wants people to come to him to get him to work. I should've stopped, got out and took his sign away. Sheesh....

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Saturday was a good night. I didn't MC as they threw Josh at the shooter bar, and I had run of the entire floor all night. And it was decent. Not stupid busy like Thursday, just a bit less.

Well my roommate Brad moved out today. Grabbed about 90% of his stuff and is on the drive up to Lacombe. He is a great kid and will go far in life. Now what am I to do? Ugh not looking forward to paying $650/month for rent. I either need to find a roommate that doesn't mind small accommodations or I have to move AGAIN ! I think I'm gonna stick it out for a few months at least. Plus the fact that most of the good places have been taken up by students. Things will sort themselves out I'm sure, they usually do.....

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Well Thursday kicked my ass just as bad as Monday night. But I was a little more relaxed as I was just MC. Toxyk had the dancefloor in a total frenzy and overall the vibe was really good and fun.

Friday at Scores North sucked. We peaked to about 35 people. Nobody danced and at the end of it all, had the music cranked for a drunk Jamie. Sigh.....

Working tonight at Studio for our Beach Bash. Hopefully it'll be good.

Comment: Well the movie 9 is playing now in the theatres. Good. I was about to get very angry there. Going to see it hopefully on Sunday or early next week.

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Seems I'm still recovering from Monday night's fiesta that was Essies. I got there at 8 PM and was thinking there would be a few people. NOT !! About 100 or so, and about 80 of them in front of the bar. Stupidly busy, but we didn't have any problems and the dance floor was jammed pretty much all night and people were rockin! I'm quite happy with the result. The only bad thing about it all, was the end, when my former boss, Nathan, came over and tried to apologize for letting me go at Blarney. First off, I'm at my other job, if he really feels bad about it then call me and we can meet up and discuss things then, not at my place of work. 2nd, I'm not discussing anything while he was in a drunk frame of mind. Sheesh.....

Otherwise my week has been decent. Oh, 9 opened in theatres today, but typical Lethbridge didn't get it. They'll probably , and better have it by the weekend.

Check out the trailer here -------> http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/9-feature/trailer

Sunday, September 6, 2009

Not much happened this past week. Worked my usual jobs and they are definitely picking up as school returns this week. Went on Saturday to the Shadow of the Bridge festival which was the 100 year anniversary of the high level bridge. Instead of getting a grand old light show and have all the cross beams and stuff illuminated like a Christmas tree, instead they put lights at the base and lit it up that way. Huh? It was quite lame actually. I know that the owner of DA electric paid for the whole thing himself, but come on. It's the 100 year celebration. Make it a grand event. Throw in that Woooo factor. There was a ton of people everywhere, and it was the most disappointing thing I have ever seen. Not blaming the city on this one, but I am saddened by the lack luster commitment to make anything in our town special. Boo!!

Sunday, August 30, 2009

Observation: A little side note from the wedding. There was a fairly large man that joined our table during supper. Is it time to lose weight when you're sweating whilst eating? And it wasn't because it was hot in the venue. It was more because he was obese and shoveling food like Kobiyashi downs hot dogs. If I ever get that large, shoot me....
Thursday was a busy night at Studio. And it was Rachelle's last night working there. She's gone to work at Scores North now. Good for her I guess, but the money she'll miss on Thursdays will be great I'm thinking. Friday I was at Essies filling in for Brynen. It was busy and I had a lot of fun.

Saturday, I djed a wedding for Rick & Tracy. The last time I did a wedding that had those two names, I got shafted on my pay. Good thing this is a different set of people. Actually my cousin Joe was in the wedding party, as he is married to Germaine who is Tracy's sister. Plus Joe's daughter Torii and his brother Henry was also there, so it had a family feeling to it. Overall they danced at the beginning of it, but later on they were more into the drinking part of it than anything. Wrapped up by 12:15 AM then headed to Studio for one then home. I didn't have that much to drink but man, I feel like garbage today. Just gonna take it easy and relax for the night. Maybe even catch a flick. :)

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

So something weird has happened. My former boss from ICE and Suede, Mr. Lee Ford himself, has resurfaced and invited me to join his Facebook group, where he plans on bringing in big name concerts, acts and such. You know what Lee, I might join the group, but you owe me for at least 2 weeks of work still. And I will mention that next chance I get to talk to you.

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Well got back from my little camping excursion. Went quite well actually, I'm surprised. Compared to the last one I went on at least. The next one should be even more prepared and a better experience as well.

Picked up my girl in Calgary around 4:30 PM on Saturday. From there we went straight to Banff. It's about 100 KM or so to Banff so it didn't take too long. The drive was very beautiful too which is nice. Landed in Banff, and went into the town to look at some stuff and then hit the road again and figured with the sun setting so qucikly, it was best for us to find a camping spot. Started driving up towards Lake Louise and towards the camping sites on the map we were provided with at the entrance of the park. Well, the first 2-3 camping sites all were full and we were both hungry and getting tired. But found another spot that had a lot of sites. Drove around it and FINALLY found a camp site. By this time it was practically pitch black dark out. Couldn't set up the tent so we figured get some food made and sleep in the van. My roommate Brad lent me his portable propane grill which we quickly got going and cooked the hot dogs on it. We didn't have a firepit site so this is what we were forced with. We settled in for the night, in the van, and went to sleep. It was about 11 PM at this time we figured wince we didn't have a watch and cell phone had no service, so couldn't even see. Up at around 9:30 AM, as I figured out the camera I had, kept the time and date. So from that point on we used it as our clock. We ate breakfast, which consisted of cereal, gathered our wits and were on our way towards the the Columbia Icefields and the next campsite. Figured might as well get in, pay for it earlier and then come back and settle in.

Part 2: Lake Louise and the Icefields.

Made the next stop Lake Louise since it was on the way to the Icefields. Always a huge tourist attraction and today (Sunday) was no different. Rather calm day and the lake was beautiful. Got some nice pics of it. Was a bit cloudy but otherwise was a nice day overall. Got there about 1:00 PM or so. Didn't spend too long there as there isn't much to see except the lake. And we didn't have a lot of time to go hiking and such. So got back on the road towards our next campsite. Arrived there and set up camp.

It happened to be at the same campsite I stayed at 3 years prior. A small little place with only about 17 sites but it was the cheapest at $17.70 per night. A lot of people were on the way out of the park because the next day was Monday and they probably had to work. So I figured we had a good chance of getting a spot. Arrived and found a great spot and got settled in. Now, I don't I've EVER set up a tent but it turned out quite good. Just had to add some common sense and it was all good. As you can see by the picture :) So, we set up and decided ok let's drive the hour and a bit to the icefields.

Now it doesn't look like much but it is a glacier for Pete's sakes !! Not many just kicking around. Anyways we did the mini hike up to it, however it was a bit different this year. When I went 3 years ago, they had a section roped off, about 30 onto the glacier itself, that you could actually walk on, however with the warm temperatures and such, it was too unsafe. Rats.... Oh well, maybe next time. If I was to take the the bus guided tours, they bring you to the top of the glacier where you can walk on and such. Maybe next time... We hiked back down and it started to lightly rain, so I figured we head back to the campsite, get some food, and relax for a bit, much before nightfall.
Drove back and cooked some food over an open flame of the firepit.

Look, I have created FIRE !! LOL. Now, it wasn't a one match fire, however, I did get it going and we were eating fire cooked hotdogs, and beans, and for dessert was marshmallows and raspberries ! YUM !!

The only bad thing was I started the fire way too soon, so we had to keep it burning for a while before the sun set, but by that time, I was wiped and ready for bed. A long day. Went to bed around 10:30 PM I believe. One thing I must remember to bring for next time is a sleeping bag (Brad gave me his, but I gave it to my girl to use) and a foamie. Ended uyp sleeping on the ground and it was one of the most uncomfortable sleeps ever. But survived it nonetheless. Waking up sucked though, especially at 7:30 AM or so. It was probably about 5 C if not colder. There was frost on my car window, on the rain tent covering, and on some of the firewood. So needless to say, we were cold. I got a fire started again, and used it to heat up. Then we packed up shop and decide to head back and out of the park. On the way out, saw two women that were hitchhiking. So I figured, give them a ride. Found out that they were from France, so at least I could speak french to them. They weren't going as far as we were though. They needed to take the turnoff that goes towards BC. I drove them as far as I could, dropped them off again and said bye.

Not much more to the story than all of that. If you are a nature lover and want some great pics, this national park is for you. Saw a huge herd of elk, goats, squirrels, birds but still no bear :)

The scenery is awe inspiring and I will try and get back here as much as possible. Only thing I didn't really like is how expensive it was. Close to $20 a day just to be in the park, about $30 on average per night at a campsite. But I guess it's what it is....

Weddings, weddings, come get your weddings !! LOL. Had 2 in the past 2 weeks. First one, last Saturday up at the Grandstand. It went really well for it being a half mormon one and apparently the families don't like one another. It was a small gathering too but was ok. 2nd one, I'll discuss in a bit. Monday at Essies was fun as the Earl's staff came in later on for their staff party. Always a hoot with those guys as they know how to party it up !!

Now for the 2nd wedding. It was Tanya's, down at Pavan Park. The ceremony was a clusterfuck to say the least. I got set up on time and ready to go but most of the guests were late and the ceremony, which was supposed to start at 1 PM, was now behind schedule. When they arrived, via horse and carriage, they decided to take pictures there and then. Meanwhile the guests, who were seated by this time, waited patiently for them to do their entrance. FINALLY, they walked down the aisle. But it wasn't the traditional way, they did it to Chris Brown's Forever. There's a Youtube video of the same thing. However, instead of each person going down individually, and doing a crazy dance, it was more like everyone rush the stage type of deal. So instead of having the song last oh 2-3 minutes, it lasted only 20-30 secs.

Part 2: Supper. Again a bit of confusion as to what to do for their entrance. But the picnic tables looked awesome. Also instead of serving food right away, they went around to each tables and took pictures and said their thank yous then. Backwards again ! But the food was phenomenal. It was prepared by the Guesthouse and also featured Steak, Lobster (which the bride purchased from the west coast), Baked potato or potato salad, garlic toast, mushrooms and 4 different types of salad. Tremendous. Brad, my assistant, didn't finish all of his steak, and I finished all of it, barely. Then we had the dance portion of the night which went quite good too. So overall, it was a grand affair. 2 more days of work then I leave on Saturday to pick up Taia and head to the mountains for 3-4 days of camping. It'll be nice to get away.

Slightly scary situation is arising with me. I've been having very deep rem sleeps, and when I wake up after coming out of them, I have a massive case of the spins. Not sure if I should be concerned or it may just be something else.
This week has been very interesting to say the least. Monday, Essies was decent. Should only get busier as the students come back to party it up and study hard for another school year. Took my van into get serviced on Tuesday in the morning. Then got a bombshell dropped on me. Chris from Blarney, let me go from my services. At least they gave me severance pay. WTF?! I put my soul into that place for 4 years and this is how that jackass rewards me? Go fuck yourself Chris and Nathan. I hope your daddy can bail you out of the financial difficulties you'll have down the road, and I wish you nothing but misery in the future. And Nathan, thanks for nothing. Not even present to give me the news or not even a phone call. I knew that it would come sometime, but they were cowards. That was the final straw I believe. At least it was good to hear, they had nothing but fights on Wednesday and even a pellet gun had shot at some of the windows. LOL. But Erin helped me realized that this may have been a blessing in disguise, to which I agree with. Sometimes we need a bit of a 'push' to get our lives back on track, and I believe this is my push. Wait and see.....

This past week has been interesting to say the least. Work has been.....work. Had Tuesday off and went to the movies with Brad. Wednesday was super busy and so was Thursday. But of course late starts. Friday I was at Scores North. Still not sure why on that but whatever, I still got paid. I have a wedding to do at the university tonight for Shad. Should go fine. At least I didn't forget the unit today :)

Observance: Two of them in fact. Why my friend challenged Aaron Hargraves from Scores in a pool match for $20, when I warned him not to, is beyond my comprehension. Aaron's dad is a pool player, so is his sister and so is he. Now not taking anything away from my buddy, but come on. And he wanted to go for $80 !! Good thing he only lost $40.

2nd observance. Actually more of a comment really. Some people show their true colors when stress hits. A friend of mine bailed on me for a concert I'm about to see. Other members of her family are not that disrespectful. It would seem in this case, the apple DOES fall far from the tree.

Observance: Finally !! Went to the mall, actually to Staples, and all the parking lines were clearly marked and the handicap parking was highlighted with a blue section. Making it clear to distinguish one from another. Finally someone is getting smart in their old age. :)
Haven't logged in for quite some time. Last Sunday was ok, I didn't work but until the last hour, Paul Wittle from B93 had the inaugural debut of the live to air. He played a ton of remixed songs of pop and Hip-hop songs. A lot of people were none too impressed by it.

Help out Shad a bit on Tuesday install some stuff at Blarney but I mainly finished off the rest of the install at Scores North. Drilled a hole in the back, so the cables to the subs and to the mix board could be run from behind, and it looks a lot neater. Also trimmed the zip cables to make them look a lot cleaner. Wednesday, worked with some of the new lights that Shad installed. Looked great and a fantastic job putting them up. Thursday, was a very slow start but got busy around the midnight hour. Same thing with Blarney on Wednesday. Friday, Scores was decent, but with it being a long weekend and all, I thought it'd be a lot slower than it was. Sahd gave me a wedding contract to do in Waterton for Saturday so that was ok.

Grabbed the stuff at around 2 PM or so. Shad also had one to do in Waterton, only 2 buildings over from where mine was. Headed out in my van, with everything. At least I thought I had everything. About 30 clicks out of Waterton, I realized I forgot the mix board and computer system. WTF!? You kidding me?? I hit the panic button. Shad said he had a laptop I could use in the meantime. So I got on the horn, called Josh who delivered it to Mark and he ended dropping it off to me. I felt like such an idiot. I used someone's ghetto blaster system for the music for the cocktails portion, so it was all good. Got the actual system a few minutes after they started supper. It was tremendously hot in the community hall and after starting at 9 PM, I was done at 12:15 AM. I then scurried over to say hi to Shad at the school and mixed a few tracks. Had some food and some drinks then ended up driving home around 3:3o AM or so. New record, passed only 1 car on the way home, and they were going the other way.

Sunday, was a day of rest. Wasn't working at Blarney, because of the B93 thing, but I dropped by after going to Sheree's house for a few drinks and a dip in the pool. Blarney was busy, and I had a lot of people come up to me to voice their displeasure with Paul Wittle. No hip-hop at all, and the stuff he played was at least 1.5 years old. and a LOT of dance remixes. It was busy because of the long weekend, not because of what Paul played, or the Ladie's night Sunday thing. I hope Chris' ego doesn't get too inflated by something he may think caused it to be busy. We will have a talk.....

Had one of my best nights last night at Scores north. That 80s party was phenomenal. The only bad thing was the lack of people for it. When I finally got them up dancing, I was unstoppable. And they danced to everything. And the fact I was mixing new stuff, old, everything worked. I played about 90% 80s which was fine by me. Ran into a few people I haven't seen in a very long time too. Jason and Melissa Huszar were there, as was Angela Dolan, and a few others.

Working tonight at Blarney for the official live to air thing. If it doesn't go this time, then I should quit. This has become quite ridiculous. But I think it will go through now, because they've put a limiter in there. It really hindered my performance on Wednesday so hopefully we can get it just right.

And finally I think my computer is dying. It won't reboot properly, and seeing as I haven't talked to Opi, I won't get it fixed. Talking to Doc in a couple of days, and maybe he can make sense of it. Stupid electronics..........

Saturday, July 25, 2009

Work was fairly slow last night at Scores North. I'm so out of way. Hopefully will be better tonight. Big 80s party.

It's freakin hot today. 32 C. And I feel for the people at the Air show today. Gotta be at least 35 C on the tarmac.

Complaint: I know manholes are part of the infrastructure of the roads and such, but why, OH WHY, do they put them right in the lanes where you drive over each and every one of them?? Why can't they put them in between the two lanes or off to the sides so that your tires never make contact with them?? Stupid city......

It's been a while since my last blog...... and I STILL can't stop talking about the No Doubt show !! :)

Well, last weekend was really, REALLY slow. I think it's the slowest weekend for the club industry as it was Thunder in the Valley AND South Country Fair. At least next weekend is the Air Show, which brings people TO Lethbridge. Blarney Stone is getting me a bit pissed off. Chris seems to say one thing to me and something different to Nathan. Even now he still doesn't know what's up with Sundays for the live to air. Soon, my friends, very soon.....

Congrats to Brynen in getting the job at Essies as the full time weekend dj. He really wanted it and they were also looking so it's all good.

Observation: I saw this when I was up in Edmonton and area. Solar panel on those remote stop signs. It recharges in the day, then at night it lasts and can blink to alert drivers about it at night. Brilliant. Finally someone is using the minds to good things.

WAAAOOOOOOOOOO !!! That's one of the best ways to describe the concert. Tremendous.

Wednesday started off a bit rough as it took forever to get me in a car to get on the road. Stupid jerks at Enterprise. I just wanted a car, and they told me all they had were small vehicles with no cruise. So I eventually settled into a Mitsubishi Lancer. Speedy little thing. So I was off by 12:30 PM, a half hour off my scheduled departure time. No big deal. Decided to go the Fort MacLeod way as I needed to come straight in on MacLeod trail, instead of 16th Ave. Pretty much was doing about 125-130 kph as the car had no cruise control and I occasionally had a heavy foot. Got into Calgary around 2:30 ish and went to the mall. I wanted to get a digital camera for the concert and since I never had one, figured it was a good time to get one. Ended up getting a Sony Cybershot, 3x optical zoom which was perfectly priced at just under $200. So I headed off towards the Saddledome, to find which entrance I needed to go through, being a tour Club member and all. Found all that out, and decided to go get some food before meeting up with Cookie, seeing as I had her tickets. It was around 4:15 or so, so I started driving downtown Calgary. First bad mistake of the day. Well at this time, it was rush hour. I hate driving in Calgary as is, with all their stupid one way streets and lane reversals. So, this was an idiot move on my part. So I figured, ok let's head to Eau Claire Market, there I can get an appetizer of some sort, and make my way back to the Saddledome. Well, it took me practically forever to find Eau Claire, and at this time, and with all the traffic, it was 4:55 PM. So, it was pointless that I turned around and headed back to the Saddledome, which was much easier. Got there about 5:10 PM, parked and then proceeded to wait for Cookie to get there. Finally she came around about 6:00 PM or so and we went in. Only tour club members got in before the general public. There was about 70 of us running around inside while everyone else were waiting outside the concourse. It was a special feeling of VIP treatment which I relished every moment of. Got some merchandise and got some food and found our seats, and waited for the opening act to start.

7:30 Bedouin Soundclash opened their set off. Great sounding band, with their reggae feel. A trumpet and sax player, bassist, lead singer/guitarist and drummer. Very tight. They only did about 6 songs, and were done in 30 min. They are playing at Blarney Stone in Aug. I might have to go to that.

8:15 Paramore came on. Hard hitting female fronted band, they played to the delights of many that I knew wanted to see them. The lead vocalist had a set of pipes on her though. Their set went a little long but they seemed to enjoy the limelight a bit. They sounded like a mix of Avril Lavigne, Billy Talent, Fall Out Boy, with a touch of Nickelback. Not my style for sure, but I did enjoy their role as opening act. They finished at about 9 PM or so.

9:25 Just before the badn started, the stage crew came out and laid a white linoleum type of substance at the front and sides of the stage. The lights went dim and No Doubt was about to start. A giant white sheet, almost curtain, was draped in front and the crowd started going wild and crazy, then a white light shone on them from behind casting their silhouttes on it, one at a time. Finally it was time to go, and they opened with probably my favorite No Doubt song, Spiderwebs. They were all dressed in white, and the stage was white as well. Sheer beauty. And being 8th row on the floor, they looked phenomenal. They did a bunch of their classics, then Gwen left the stage and the horn players did Guns of Navarone, a classic ska instrumental track. Gwen came back out after a quick costume change to continue. Then they concluded, and left the stage but came back for an encore. In the encore, they did a track where the other bands came out to join them in singing it. Truly awesome. They concluded the show with Sunday morning and that was it. My voice was raw from singing and I felt glad to have gone to it. Me and Cookie went out seperate ways after the show, and I made my way to the Back Alley. I read on my Facebook, that Jonelle was going there so I figured myabe meet up with her. Well I ran into Robbie, Jonelle and her friend, Lynn, her sister Kristen and Lynn's friend. I had a few drinks and headed back to Lethbridge. Wonderful show overall. I can't wait until No Doubt or even Gwen tours again. I'll try to be even closer next time around :D

Went golfing with Trevor, Nick and Bryan in the afternoon on Thursday. We shot 9 holes and I shot a 46. Then Bryan had to leave, and the 3 of us went out for another 9 holes. I shot a 47 2nd time around. Consistant at least. Work at Studio was not bad but people were bothering me hardcore. Seems they all knew how to push my buttons. But there was a lot of eye candy including Ariel's (from Germany) sister Bianca. Holy moly !!! Pure delicious !

And finally got my internet reconnected. Actually it wasn't mine that was down. Seemed that Donovan didn't pay his cable bill and since I was spliced into his, mine became toast. They rehooked it all up on Friday and it's good to go. I gotta work all weekend long so no Thunder in the Valley for me. Next year maybe.....

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Well worked my first official day at Essies as an employee, actually more as a contractor, but doing a regular thing there on Mondays. Worked out really good and had a lot of fun. It was one of the b-boy's birthday and everyone ripped it up. At one point in time I had about 85% of the people in the bar, on the dance floor. :) Also talked to the other dj, Brad, who was in having a few drinks. No comment on him yet.

It's my day off on Tuesday and Brad and I are going to see Public Enemies, then one more sleep then No Doubt !! I am SO stoked for it. Ever since I saw Gwen Stefani in concert, I couldn't wait for this one.

And finally I got my brick !! Absolutely gorgeous ! I shall treasure it forever !!

Monday, July 13, 2009

Worked all week doing my dj gig as well as the install to Scores North, which was my first. We also had the Street Wheelers weekend. Too bad I'm not a car enthusiast.

I am so glad to have that install done. It wasn't a major one but still, everything from ordering or recommending the stuff to get to helping Shad, to running speaker wire, to adding connectors to them, I had to practically do it all. It definitely was a learning experience, and it looks and sounds absolutely fantastic too. I am tremendously disappointed in Opi in his ability to not order the stuff, although he did say in his e-mail on what he would recommend, and second the lack of help offered. I know he's been busy at the university and stuff but he was the one that was all gung ho about helping out other places and he was really excited about doing Scores North. He totally dropped the ball. And not even a phone call. I was going to ask him to join me in Calgary for the Pearl Jam concert for Virginfest, but I don't think I'm going to even talk to him anymore. He's not the same person. I hate losing friends....

Amazing. Simply amazing. I've just returned from the Green Day concert which was on Monday July 6th in Edmonton. Wow !

Me and Brad left Lethbridge on Monday about 11:30 AM officially. Drove to Lacombe, where we picked up his sister and had a great meal prepared by his mom. Met his dad, and his grandma and grandpa as well, who are straight from Denmark. Great family. Onwards to the show. We arrived in Edmonton with lots of time to spare. Got our merchandise, and found our seats.

8:00 PM The Bravery opened for Green Day. Sort of sounded of like the Cure but more updated. Not bad but I didn't really like their sound. They played for about a half an hour. They weren't overall active on stage and rather a large contrast between them and Green Day for sure. Just before Green Day was to start, some people came over and said we were in their seats. Apparently we were, so moved to our proper seats which was one section closer.

9:00 PM Lights out and the intro came on and Green Day took to the stage. They did the first 2 songs off the album, 21st Century Breakdown and Know Your Enemy, then proceeded into classics. The energy was so electric and they had everyone singing at the top of their lungs, especially with the Heeeey-Yoooo chants. What really impressed me is on many occasions, they got audience members to come on stage and sing parts of their songs. Best was Longview, where they chose a guy for the 1st and 3rd verses and a chick for the 2nd verse. The guys did great and were in tune, but the chick sucked. Oh well... They also performed King For A Day, had a Jason Freese on sax and then proceeded to do a medley of Shout, Earth Angel, Stand By Me, and back into Shout. Truly superb. They came back with an encore and finished off with Billie Joe doing a solo acoustic version of Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) at the front of the stage. It was a great feeling of euphoria in the room, and everyone left satisfied.

I am grateful to have seen this band live, and hope next time I get a better seat to enjoy them even more. Met up with Kerry and Aaron afterwards at their hotel room, saw their newborn baby, Elazer then took off back to Lacombe for the night. Had a great sleep and then headed for home in the afternoon. Overall a splendid time, and get to do it in Calgary next week for No Doubt. I don't think it'll be as good, but you never know.

Slow weekend due to the fact that it was opening weekend at the Calgary Stampede and it was the 4th of July weekend as well. Not much to report on. I am getting stressed though regarding my jobs. Major changes gonna happen. Some for the better, some for the worse.

On a different note, got my application to Edmonton City Police printed off today. Need some stuff like first aid and cpr and a transcript of my high school diploma. Are you kidding me?? I haven't attended high school in 20 years !! But if I'm gonna get this done, I'm gonna have get it.

Thursday, July 2, 2009

I was so right about it being a gong show after the fireworks. But it was a lot slower and not as busy as I thought. But as per usual, everyone wanted 'their' song next. Eediots......

Observation: I'm not sure, but after I parked my vehicle after work, I looked up into the sky to check out the cloud coverage, to see if it looked like rain. No clouds but I did notice a bright light. Looked like a star but it was moving across the sky at a fairly rapid pace. It wasn't an aircraft as there was no mechanical sound or any other flashing lights, it was just a solid white light moving from West to East. I was in awe. Did I actually witness something unexplained?? I'll never know but I'm glad to have seen it.

I really need to start blogging SOONER about stuff rather than later. Oh well, at least I'm blogging... lol

Sunday was actually pretty good. A few people came in from Lyle's vigil that they held that night, and there was two birthday parties. Not sure if we got everyone else because of the Ladies night promotion but it was still ok. Worked with Paul Wittle from B93, and he seems like a decent guy. Not so sure he's gonna last though. I personally didn't like the fact that he almost cut out the music every time he did a talkover. I heard Matt and some of them even telling him to shut the hell up. Oh boy this is gonna be a fun ride. Not sure if I'll be there this Sunday. I might take it off so I can get a good early sleep and then hit the road at around 10 AM so me and Brad can be up in Edmonton in the afternoonish as he has some running around to do downtown.

Monday, I was coming up roses. Took care of all my business, even won some money playing VLTs, and everything ran like clockwork. It was great, and I could do NO wrong.

Tuesday, I ended up working but not until late, as it was dead for most of the night, but we did get a rush in later, which ended up salvaging the night.

It's now officially Canada Day ~! I don't have much planned. Supposed to meet uyp with Gerry and then work at Blarney tonight. Should be a total gong show though I figure after the fireworks.

Did the wedding on Saturday and it went really good. Played a lot of good old tunes and country and per requests. But early in the day, got some bad news. Lyle Madge, and old friend from the 911 and my old days of Studio, passed away as a result of a stabbing and beating in Magrath. Seriously, what the fuck is going on with people nowadays?! Anyways, I am saddened by it and may you find a calm my friend. RIP Lyle....

Friday, June 26, 2009

Had a wedding to dj on Saturday last weekend, Opi's sister's to be exact. It was at the Italian hall and I thought it went over fantastically great. They danced, and had a lot of fun. I even knew some people there. :)

Rest of the week went by pretty decently. Had lunch with my cousin Kevin on Tuesday. I haven't seen him in about 7 years or so. He lives out in Burnaby, BC as a graphic designer doing government and union contracts. Nicely done mate. Met with him and his girlfriend/common law wife, as they have been together for so long. Very friendly, down to earth girl.

Blarney Stone on Wednesday was great. Slow start but got stupidly busy. Met the alternate dj for Sundays, Paul Wittle from B93. Strong British accented fellow, he asked a lot of questions and we connected well about 'dj' related things. Studio 54 was about the same, with a slow start but Josh had the dance floor smokin' .

And now for some sad news. First off I guess Ed McMahon of the Tonight Show fame, passed away on Tuesday or so. But I got the news from Brad my roommate that on Thursday, Michael Jackson AND Farrah Fawcett both passed away. Michael Jackson died from cardiac failure and Farrah Fawcett died from cancer. What a horrible week for the entertainment industry.

Observation: A lot of people criticized Michael Jackson for being this and that, but from a musician and entertainer point, he was simply and truly an amazing phenomenon. From his private point of view, he was messed up. He will be missed and his music will endure the test of time.

Saturday, June 20, 2009

Been a semi busy week for me. Worked on Wednesday at Blarney and man was it busy. And it was fight night. Apparently one of them involved Shane at the front door and some kid sucker punched him. needless to say he proceeded to pummel the kid into the pavement, from what I heard, and then there's Dave Brown, who apparently kicked some kid out (why he was is beyond me seeing as he's not a bouncer or doorman) and at the end of the night, the kid was back in. So instead of asking the kid to leave, he reached from behind and grabbed the kid by the throat and started dragging him out. *sigh*

Thursday was a good day. Got my rental vehicle from Enterprise and was on the road by 12:00 which is what I wanted. Drove up to Edmonton to see Coldplay. Got to E-town in about 4.5 hrs which was great time. Missed one turn off in town to get to Rexall Place but quickly recovered and pulled into the parking lot 30 minutes prior to the doors opening. Got my ticket from the Will Call booth with 10 min to the doors opening. Finally 6 PM rolls around and the doors are open. I make my way to the merchandise stand and get myself a shirt. Seeing as I didn't eat anything before I left, I grabbed some food at the concession stand and made my way to my seat. Found it and anxiously awaited the opening acts.

7:00 - 7:30 PM 1st band was a band from Australia called Howling Bells. A female vocalist fronted band, the had a very soothing, and a nice rich sound with echoing (<----- love that word !!) guitar riffs. For an opening act, I'd give it a solid 8.5 out of 10. A break until 8:00 PM for the 2nd band.

8:00 - 8:40 PM Snow Patrol came on and performed. I'm not a big fan of their music but they played well and thanked the crowd a lot. Overall I'd give them an 8 out of 10. They almost seemed to try too hard. But they, along with Howling Bells, knew that everyone was there for Coldplay. The transition from each opening act to the headliner was good though. Each bringing slightly more of that stadium sound.

Just before Coldplay cam on, the intermission music got really loud for 3 songs. Probably were checking the limits of the frequency ranges for when Coldplay was to play. 1st song was a U2 track off the new album, 2nd was Jay-Z - I'm a Hustler and 3rd was the Blue Danube waltz. 3 very different styles. At the playing of the last note of the waltz, the lights went out, and the crowd roared. Showtime !!

9:00 PM Coldplay did their intro song off the Viva La Vida album, Life in Technicolor, and came out waving sparklers and twirling fire batons or something of that nature. Then they kicked it into high gear playing 2 very recognizable songs, Clocks and Yellow right off the hop ! For Yellow, giant balloons came down and the lighting was all in yellow. Then the intermixed new tracks from their most recent album with others off their older ones. They performed a couple sort of acoustic tracks just off stage but the best was yet to come. Nearly 2/3 of the way through their night, they left the main stage, walked all the way to the back of the arena, and performed on a set stage IN the stands. Amazing ! Just enough room for the 4 of them, and a few guitars and such. 3 song acoustic jam. The last being a Monkees cover of I'm A Believer. Then when they finished, the audio tech, played a dance remix of Viva La Vida as the band made their way back to the main stage to finish off the night. The last song had the confetti machines blowing confetti, in the shape of butterflies, all over the place. Of course there was an encore of 2 songs which concluded a phenomenal evening. To wrap it all off they handed out a special 9 song Live EP of some of their favorites. Truly an honor to attend this show. I can't wait until the next one, where I will get a better seat. Got back in my vehicle and left Edmonton to drive all the way back to Lethbridge. At one point, I was tailing a guy, and was doing 160 KM/hr. Fastest I have ever driven. I did see 3 RCMP over the course of the drive home, but made sure to be cautious.

Going to Green Day in about 2 weeks, followed by No Doubt, 2 weeks from then. Best to get some rest. :)

Sunday, June 14, 2009

Well it's been WAY too long since my last blog but seeing as not much has changed since the last one, I'd say it's ok.

Where to start. The bar scene has been decent over this past week. With the nice weather this weekend, seems everyone skipped out of town. But it was decent all the same.

No weddings fro me over the past 2 weeks but got Opi's sister's next weekend and a referral one the following weekend. Also got the Coldplay concert on Thursday in Edmonton. Gonna be a long day then, seeing as I have to leave about noon to be up there by 5 ish. Doors open at 6 I believe, so I wanna get there early and soak up the atmosphere. Then 2 weeks later it's Green Day, also in Edmonton, and 2 weeks after that it's No Doubt in Calgary. Wooooo !!

So Chris at the Blarney Stone is making me upset now. I went from not working at all on Sundays, to working every 3rd Sunday or so, to now every 2nd week. As long as I get my raise that was promised, I'll be alright with it. But, he does need to understand he can't keep changing his mind like that. I almsot think he's afraid at the consequences if I did leave. I think he's convering his ass is all. Boy, I'm about to drops da bomb !! :)

Comment: Not sure if I mentioned this before but a few weeks ago I had a guy come up to the booth at Studio to congratulate me. I said for what, to which he replied that he was finishing his schooling and won't be returning to Lethbridge anytime soon. He also said thanks for all the great nights he spent partying it up to my tunes and the copious amounts of fun he had during that time. He ended up by saying how much I meant to him in his life during his school years as well. I was totally taken back by this. All I could reply was "You're most welcome". That truly is one of the most incredible compliments I have EVER received in this industry and has truly touched me deep inside.

Monday, June 8, 2009

Today I felt like garbage. And not the kind that's fresh, like you just pitched it 1 minute ago. No, I'm talking like the kind that's been sitting out in the hot sun for days. Went to Sheree's BBQ/pool party. Well the weather was terrible at a balmy 11 C so not exactly swimming weather. The BBQ was great. Shawna was half drunk and cooking up up tasty burgers and hot dogs. mmmmm. I felt quite ill, and without energy. I left then came back still feeling like ass. I think I might need to go to the doctor's if this doesn't clear up soon.

Worked my last Sunday night for at least 3 months. Walked in tonight at about 10ish thinking that B93 would be starting. Well, I guess I didn't hear or they (the owners) didn't tell me that the new promotion starts on next Sunday. So I ripped home, grabbed my stuff and started up at 10:30 PM. By the time it got busy, around 12:30, and by the time I got a solid dance floor, which was about 1 AM, I only had one hour to go. Pretty much anti-climactic though. I still and seem to always have fun. Wednesday should be ok, but it'll be hard to handle not working on a day that Opi, Paul and myself made and kept busy for over 8 years. Two thumbs down to you Blarney Stone for letting me go on Sundays.

Sunday, June 7, 2009

Wow it was actually quite busy last night at Studio. A LOT of promo though, but still hopefully it's a cascade effect and people start coming and realize it's a good place to be.

Tonight I am NOT working at Blarney. They start their silly 'live to air' B93 remote. A lot of people I talked to are quite upset that I'm not there. Well, I'm gonna go for a bit to check it out then leave. Again, I say, if I'm not getting paid to be there, I'm not gonna spend my hard earned money there.

Thursday, June 4, 2009

Blarney Stone was busy tonight. Typical summer slow start but got good later. Although people wouldn't dance to anything earlier. Oh well. A really nice day today overall. Should be a good one until the weekend which the forecast calls for rain Friday through to Sunday.

So I'm thinking I need to find me a girl. Not sure still who, but I have a few prospects. My roommate Brad said he's gonna help. He also told me I could get some action anytime I want. LOL. Um, women or girls in this case, look at me as a sanctuary, as somebody who won't hit on them and such. More as a comfort zone. They don't see me as a sexual partner or animal for that matter. One of these days, one, or many, will take a chance on me and will not be disappointed. :)

Monday, June 1, 2009

Wedding on Saturday went really good. Slow start but got them whipped up in a frenzy and basically they didn't want to stop. But alas the university made them. Plus it was 2 AM already. LOL. Sunday was again a slow start then got decent. Think it'll be like that for the rest of summer.

Monday was a sad, somber day overall. First off, went to a funeral of a dear old friend. More about that in a bit. Then went to get my money from the boys at Blarney and they informed me that they were doing a live to air from the Blarney, on Sundays. They have a 3 month trial , and if they decide to go with it after 3 months, then it goes til December. But here's the catch, B93 must supply their own djs for it, so no worky for me anymore. They aren't that smart apparently. One it's summer time. There isn't gonna be a lot of people coming out on Sundays anyways. Two, they are probably paying them (the radio station) probably a lot more than they would've paid me to get them in. Three, they should've done what Lonny did in the first place and gone out to the different establishments and businesses, do the P.R. work and talk with industry people, had out gift certificates, and promote the Blarney Stone as "the place to be". Maybe their new tactic of bringing in the radio station will work, but personally speaking and from my experience, I doubt it. Might be time for me to look for something else :) At least I still have Wednesdays.... for now.

And now a truly sad note. A long time friend of mine, had funeral services today. Les "Taco" Higa passed away last week at the young age of 53 after losing his battle with Cancer. I knew him back in the Karaoke days of the Baypoint and always had a smile on his face and had a ton of fun. I still recall hearing him sing his rendition of Mack the Knife. Incredible realtor as well and founder of Coldwell Banker here in Lethbridge. I met the acquaintance of his son Raiden, while working at Spin together. Every time I talked with Raiden I always made sure to tell him to say hi to his dad for me. I will truly miss Les and will never forget him.

Wednesday at Blarney was good, then got REALLY busy. I had so many songs I wanted to get in play but just didn't have enough time. Oh well, if people would've got there sooner then I could've played them all.

Thursday at Studio was about the same, slow start then bam ! Really good energy in the room. I do have to work on Josh though. I was none to happy about the flow. But as I tell people, he's the dj that night not me.

Well I went to Rides today for a bite to eat for lunch and witnessed something I have never seen before. They had the king of Bowling final on TV. But the winner had just bowled a perfect game. I'd never seen one before. I've seen perfect games and no-hitters in the MLB, amazing individual performances in hockey, and near record shattering individual point totals in NBA, but that was unbelievable.

Weather's been dynamite the last couple of days and is supposed to be just as nice this weekend. I'll try and get out and enjoy it at some point.

Had a wedding down in Paradise Canyon for Shawn Smith and his lovely new wife Kelsey. Both looked great. It went very well. The only thing I didn't like about it was the bit of arrogance of some of the guests, who were all bar staff from Madhatters or formerly ICE. Ah what can one do. I had a lot of fun and had one gentleman compliment me on the great tunes I played, and Shawn's mom was thoroughly pleased by it all as well. I consider it a success.

Sunday night at Blarney was actually quite busy, even though it started off really slow. I still miss working with Opi. But nothing I can do about it.

I did nothing on my day off on Monday. I was supposed to get my business stuff taken care of but I decided to sleep in, so I'll get it done tomorrow. I went to Angels & Demons, the follow up movie to the Da Vinci Code. Directed by Ron Howard, I found it quite 'enlightening' (no pun intended) and was a good thrill ride. I give it a solid 7.5 out of 10. Would give it more but some of the parts were a little far fetched. I can't wait until next weekend where Drag Me To Hell comes out. Directed by Sam Raimi, it's got very high reviews as he is apparently going back to his roots of horror with a touch of comedy. Delicious !!

Saturday, May 23, 2009

Wednesday night was ok at Blarney. Slow start but was good at the end. Ran into Foster there. He was none too pleased though. His dilemma was that he couldn't order a Crown Royal and coke. Apparently we aren't selling that anymore. So I asked Amber about it. Turns out we aren't serving Crown, Bacardi White, Gilbey's or anymore premium alcohol. Also we've switched to lesser grade of the alcohols and have 12 different flavors of vodka. Hmmm.....

Studio was slow on Thursday but turned out to be a decent night in the end. And Scores was ok today. Got Shawn Smith's wedding to do tomorrow. I have a feeling he's gonna be a pain in the ass about everything when I get there. I really do hope he leaves early, like a good bride and groom should.

So many cops out tonight after I was done work. An accident near Scores involving one of the waitresses, and a cop had a car pulled over by Pizza 73, and 3 cars by Wok Box had a car full of indians, 6 or so, pulled over and there was at least 5 cans of beer of the roof of the car, with an officer pulling more out as I drove by.

I, myself, have been trying to cut back the amount I am consuming. Still have a couple on the days I work, but that's about it.

Complaint: This one is a bit minor but still... I really hate people that don't signal to turn a corner. I can maybe understand on a side street and if there's nobody behind them. But it's on the major thoroughfares that they neglect, those are the ones that REALLY bother me. Those are the bastards that cause accidents. Now given I forget sometimes as well, but never when there's other traffic around. As one comedian stated once in a stand up bit, it takes you to move your finger 2 inches up or down. Is that SO hard ?!

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Ok so this weather REALLY sucks. I hate cold. I think it's time to move to somewhere tropical. But at least it's supposed to be nice this weekend.

Decent night at Studio last night. Looks like they're doing the cutbacks so I won't be working on Tuesdays probably until school gets back in or so. I'll go talk to the Scores people, maybe get something there.

Complaint: Why is it when I'm turning left, I wait patiently and when I finally turn, the jackass behind me is trying to get basically get to the inside lane BEFORE me? Wait until I turn, possibly switch lanes after and then he can take the proper lane. Good thing I do the left side shoulder check like I was taught before, so I can see these jerks before we REALLY get into an accident.

Had a great time in Waterton this past weekend. It was held at the Bayshore Inn Convention Centre. Did the ceremony part for the wedding which went really smooth. Only about 20 minutes then , had to set up for the rest of it. The supper portion was great. The food was unbelievable. Chicken cordon bleu which was so tender you didn't need a fork, served with broccoli, cauliflower and carrots cooked to perfection and roasted potatoes with some seasoning which were simply delightful. And for dessert was a chocolate mousse topped with whipped cream and a mint leaf. WOW. I was so impressed. Plus the fact it was an open bar too. Started the dance portion at 8:00 PM and was done by 11:45 PM. Only about 25 people but they were a great bunch, and there were a few cuties there too. Morgan and Karina were from Lethbridge, and Jonna and Terri were from Medicine Hat. After the wedding had finished we all went next door to the Thirsty Bear. I had heard so much about this place from before but never been. More of a saloon type, with two levels. The DJing was ok, nothing special as he was using 2 ipods and his mixer. BAh.... Had a fair amount to drink and had a great time. I didn't drive home until after I crashed for a few hours. Only managed to pass 36 cars From Waterton to Lethbridge going the opposite way. Got home and crashed hard.

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Busy night last night at Blarney. Slow start but crowd rocked hard towards the end. I still miss not having Opi there. It's just not the same. I think tonight at Studio 54, should be good butthe weekend should be sucky everywhere due to the long weekend, and it's supposed to be nice too. Oh well, I have to work that wedding in Waterton then back at Blarney on Sunday. Ugh I'm freakin tired. Going back to bed for a bit while my downloads finish :)

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Well the last Canadian NHL team was eliminated tonight in a 7-5 loss to Chicago. Valiant effort all. They are a good team but lost to a better team tonight.

At Blarney last night, Erin Ko came up with the best saying I think I have ever heard. A friend of mine, Mike, was dancing like he always does, without rhyme or reason and doesn't really care what he looks like doing it, he just wants to have fun. So I kept him out there for a while. Erin then said to me after he got off the dancefloor, because I played something crappy, "If the minstrel is dancing then the music must be good. She or anyone else couldn't have put that in a better context. It truly is one of the best sayings I have EVER heard in my 15 year DJ career.

Got a fairly busy week still ahead of me. Met with a wedding client on Monday night and got one more on Wednesday for the end of the month. And gotta do that wedding in Waterton on Saturday which should go by smoothly. So it's off to bed with me.

Oh, one last thing. Got the new Green Day album. Quite good. My favorite is the song The Static Age.

Saturday, May 9, 2009

Well more sweet justice was handed out yesterday. Now I have don't really have a problem with people that talk on their cell phones and drive (I used to but now I do it as well), however if they can't pay attention to the road when they do it, then they are so guilty and should be punished accordingly. Sure enough a car, driven by some young punk, creeped through the intersection and he didn't realize the turning lane was engaged first. And sure enough a cop car was going in the opposite direction. Then as the light officially turned green well he was so busted that he pulled into a nearby parking lot, probably thinking to outsmart the cop, who had turned around. WOOOO !

Comment: I don't mind some businesses like fruit stands on the side of the road, in town, as they are trying to push their product on passer bys. But I saw one for windshield chip repair. First off I never heard of the company that was offering it, second why would I get it done there? Looked so fishy.

Dream: I don't remember much about it, but I was playing a younger kid in a pool game, and he was trying every tactic to cheat to try and beat me. Needless to say he didn't. Tsk Tsk kid :)

Friday, May 8, 2009

By the way the girl in question is named Vanessa. :)

Thursday, May 7, 2009

Had yet another problem with my computer, but this one was a little bit more serious. Needed a new fan for my heat sink. Only cost $24.95 and got it replaced. Phew.

Worked at Blarney last night, although it wasn't overly busy earlier, it did get busy later in the evening. Had a charming after bar rendez-vous with a lovely lady as well. Sometimes those are the ones that come back to haunt you though. Heh Heh :)

Comment: Went to Walmart the other day and was totally blown away by something. Walked in the frozen food aisle and the lights in the displays are motion sensitive and turned on when you got close. So cool.

Monday, May 4, 2009

So tired. Worked and moved all weekend long. Scores on Friday and Saturday was a complete and utter blast ~! Jamie wanted me to play nothing but 90's hip-hop and dance, or as he would call it, Muchmusic Dance mix party !! That stuff is the greatest and I had such a time. Worked Blarney on Sunday and it wasn't too busy. But I still had fun.

Almost done moving. Got my bed and computer desk and a few odds and ends left. Oh and all my food. I'll save the boxes under the stairs and the deep freezer for a bit later on. Maybe later in the week.

Comment: I really take a lot of pride in remembering the people I have met in my life. No matter if they are absolutely gorgeous or just average. I may not remember all their names, but faces stay with me.

Thursday, April 30, 2009

Worked tonight at Blarney solo. Ugh and it was stupid busy. Felt really lonely there without Opi.

Well Tara's boyfriend finally went over the edge. I came home after work and she was crying again. All she wanted was her phone, and he wouldn't give it to her. There's more to it than that but that was one of the factors. Then he comes barging into my room when I was on the phone with Shaw, probably thinking I was calling the police. After this little stunt, I've lost all respect, and I mean ALL respect for him. It's a good thing I'm moving out. I really can't handle this and no one deserves what he's putting her through.

Monday, April 27, 2009

Ok I believe I finally got rid of the sasser worm that's been plaguing my computer for some time now. What a pain in the ass. Ugh, need to start packing and stuff tomorrow for the move. Well the only good thing is most of my stuff is STILL in boxes from before. Just my bed, computer desk, dresser, and a few other odds and ends to move.

Ok so I haven't mentioned this before in a blog. I still don't understand why I have to move. I believe it's got something to do with them wanting to live alone, but I get the sense that there is a deeper motive behind their actions. All I know is that Tara's not the same girl from a year ago. Something has changed. But it's none of my concern anymore.

Question : Is it wrong of someone to feel ill-will towards those that show ill-will towards them? Or better yet should I show compassion to those who screw me over? Or just let them fade into the fabric of time and let them be nothing but a faded memory in my mind?

Sunday, April 26, 2009

So two other guest djs working tonight at Blarney Stone, DJ Murge and DJ Sydcee, for our "Blarney" Gras, Last Class Bash. I'm still quite bitter over it but meh whatever. What can I do about it? Chris won't give me the chance to play something like that anyways. And he must be paying them $100 each to dj. :)

Friday, April 24, 2009

So I spent nearly 3 hours last night trying to put on a legitimate Anti-Virus program. Kept having problems saying that I had another one already still on, when I did in fact delete it. Some stuff gets left behind in the registry and the likes. Anyways finally got Kaspersky installed and decided to do a virus scan. Mostly was to figure out why the crap my computer was having a lot of difficulty starting up and loading Windows. I took it to a computer place to test the power supply, cause I thought that may be the culprit. The Tech guy said I possibly had a virus, since the power supply checked out to be fine. So I did the scan and found out I have viruses, trojans, and other malicious (love that word) stuff on my computer. So I ran a full clean up of them and it seems to be running a lot smoother. Not sure about the loading of Windows still as THAT may be a hardware issue which I'm hoping it isn't. But am REALLY loving Kaspersky.

Yesterday was crazy busy at Studio. But no problems from what I saw or heard. School is winding down as there's only a few days left for exams then the students are gone. Wait and see how the bars are then.

Thursday, April 23, 2009

Added post. Well my boys are out. Lost on Wednesday to the Bruins. Plus the fact I promised to cut my hair when my team was out of the playoffs. We'll see what the off season holds for them. As always though, Go Habs Go !! I'm forever proud....
Well Chris finally had his chat with me and Opi. It was after we rocked the house, after the Flames game, and everyone was in a great mood. But the team of me and Opi working together at Blarney is no more. Chris said that paying us $100 each, or $200 total is too much and needs to cut one of us. So Opi agreed to give me the nights there. He's had about enough of Chris and all his antics. So I will be flying solo most Wednesdays and Sundays, with Chris bringing in out of town djs to fill in here and there, namely his buddies from Calgary that will work for $100/night. I smell something foul, but whatever. I mean they're trying to save $100?? That's the equivalent of about 20 drinks. It's too bad really and quite sad and pathetic at the same time.

Also on the sad note, we got a ton of snow dumped on us here. It's the 23rd of April officially and we get snow and minus temperatures? Wow are the seasons really wonky.

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

Well another season comes to a close for my Habs. Valiant effort boys. But too many key injuries going into the playoffs, and all the turmoil with the team during the season, and the fact Boston sold their souls to the devil, and are playing amazingly good, did Montreal in.

So I played in goal again in floor hockey. However it had a twist, I caught with my Right hand instead of my left. There wasn't the correct set of blocker and glove in the goalie bag. Well, Very interesting to say the least. Won my last game though. But hopefully next time, there will be correct equipment.

Sunday, April 19, 2009

Yesterday was a very long day !! Woke up at noon, and started assembling my receipts to file my taxes. This was the first year that I claimed stuff in relation to my dj business. Well at the end of it all, I'm getting back about $50. o_O This is the first time I believe, EVER, that I'm getting money back ! So happy.....

Djed a wedding at the German Canadian club last night. There was about 78 people or so but still everyone had a great time. Even got a tip too :)

Met up with Opi at Studio afterwards then had coffee. Weekends like this kill me. But my taxes are done, I have no weddings for a few weeks, and can just chill for the next little while. Chris from Blarney wants to have a chat with me and Opi before our shift tonight. Last time that happened, I was fired from Studio and also from Parkside. Here's hoping he's gonna apologize for saying we sabotaged the system, which we didn't, for DJ Knowledge and wants to discuss some promotional ideas. I don't wanna work against him but rather with him to make him AND myself more money in the future. We'll see....

Thursday, April 16, 2009

First off, I just gotta say, JUSTICE !!! I posted earlier about those big ass trucks that the girls drive thinking they own the road. Well, the other day I was heading somewhere and saw one of them pulled over and sure enough it was a chick driver ! I have nothing against woman drivers but it was definitely nice to see.

Wednesday was busy but faded quickly and no problems. Tonight should be busy I figure after the Flames game. (Yuck!) And my boys lost their opener to Boston 4-2. Good game in general but Montreal fell just short. Hopefully they can rebound and win game 2.

Sunday, April 12, 2009

Worked Friday and Saturday at Scores. Not bad either night and had a fight on Saturday there. I'm quite surprised we don't get more after Rumble in the Ring, and UFC nights. Everybody trying to emulate a fighter and pretend to show how tough they are. Useless.....

Went to mom's for dinner today. Absolutely fantastic as usual. Kind of sad without dad there though.

And I'm still fuming mad about not working tonight at Blarney. They bring in DJ fuc-ing Knowledge, who's a hack, to work a long weekend when me and Opi can rock the house, which we have MANY times before, every time. Grrr.... Well, we're supposed to go down and have a sociable beverage, then leave when hack-boy starts. I bet Opi will get tons of calls about technical stuff. LOL.

Friday, April 10, 2009

Wednesday at Blarney was stupid. Sure it was busy and all that but so many fights. Bah. Our doormen are useless. Why can't they be like the old days ? These ones, just want to see patrons fight.

Thursday was the day before Good Friday. Night at Studio started off slow but got to a feverish pitch and the dance floor was rocking all night. We gave away a ton of Kokanee shwag as it was our official opening of the Kokanee Glacier Room. A few minor problems but overall it was a good night.

Dream sequence : Well again I don't remember most of it but what I do, is it was somewhat of an archeological digging, but more along the lines of discovering some hidden tunnels and such. Ended up uncovering stuff from a long time ago, more from the pioneer days. Nothing too old. But some very interesting things, like photographs and old relics. Setting was in an old house type of structure. Nothing else really stuck out.

Do these dreams have a parallel to my real life situation? Most of my dreams are something out of a tv show or movie. I really gotta analyze them sometime. :)

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

Ever have one of them days where you're just , blah? I seem to be stuck in this funk. I have to change my scene, scenario, SOMETHING! I love my job(s) but something is missing. I still hear Ryan say to me, "If that time comes where you aren't having fun anymore, then get out." Is that time now? Wait and see. But I'm not gonna wait that long...

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Ok I don't mean to complain here, but why do people drive those big ass 4x4s and don't know HOW to drive them properly? Instead they drive them like maniacs like they own the road. Grrr....

On a lighter side, the temperature reached about 18 C today and is supposed to be like that tomorrow. Maybe finally, winter will go away. :)

Monday, April 6, 2009

Sunday was a VERY long day. Woke up at 11 AM to go to our pool league finals. And man did we stink. 1st match we got obliterated and lost, before handicap, by 47 points. Ouch ! But the 2nd match we only lost 4 games and won 3rd place in our division. Our team received $297 for the regular season and $75 for the third place finish. Not too bad. We drank and ate all day and felt a bit ill after it all. Our tab was $275.00 . o_O Oh well, so much for going home with some extra money. But it was fun overall.

Going to bed now, because I'm very tired. :)

Sunday, April 5, 2009

Had a wedding on Saturday night this week. Cody's 2nd one and Kirsty Golding. The decor looked great in the ballroom at the Lodge. Wasn't too busy for it though only about 45 people or so. The food was great though as it is every time I've done a show there. I played until 1 AM then packed up my stuff. DJ Kaspar (Brad Larsen) came along and had a few drinks, helped with loading and unloading of equipment, and covered for me a few times. We ended going to Studio afterwards and low and behold, there was people there. I guess even on Friday it was busy. Maybe after this week it will have turned around and people will start coming back. At the end of the night , I almost got into a fight with a young punk kid. I was talking to Charmaine up in the upper section and he said, "you better be nice to her...." Well somehow that made me snap. Then after me talking to him, he said a few more things as I walked away. I approached him again and was ready to toss him around like a rag doll. No respect with these little punks. Anyways I left because I didn't need to get involved into conflict, especially at my place of work. Came home and cooled off. If I see the kid again, I will apologize to him and be the better man, but if he says anything, I'll have him barred.

We got pool league's final tournament on Suday. Here's hoping we play well, and win some more money. I guess the Tuesday league you get paid for wins throughout the season and can win more money in the playoffs. Giddy up !!

Thursday, April 2, 2009

So at ball hockey today I was a GOD !! I was tipping everything in sight and scored some beauties. Work at Blarney was chaotically busy. First off it was typical Wednesday, but the Trailer Park Boys were at the Enmax Center and then came to Blarney after so we got a nice surge after their show. Me and Opi were in such a zone and the crowd ate up every last bit of it. I'm really tired now.

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Well I had my eye exam. Surprise surprise, my prescription hardly changed at all. And my eyes are healthy. I did not get my new glasses, but got a quote on them instead. $346.00 would be for my new specs. Gah. There has to be a cheaper place. I know you can't put a price on your eyes and such but come on. I just want new frames. I can see perfectly well with my old ones.

So tomorrow is April Fool's day, and the big virus is supposed to kick in that day. Let's just hope I got rid of it on my computer.
So I accidentally broke my glasses on Sunday when I was wiping the lens. The frame, which is plastic, came out of the arm and the lens popped right out. I got them temporarily fixed on Monday. But they can't give me a new pair without a new subscription. So I set up an appointment for Tuesday to get my eyes checked and should have them then as well. Grrr. I'm not impressed.

I didn't go out at all today, which was ok. Essies will still be there next time, unless a fire burns it down. Let's hope that it doesn't happen. (knocks on wood)

Monday, March 30, 2009

So the staff meeting went ok. But he's bringing in 2 guest djs on nights that I normally would work. I'm not to impressed. Must have a talk with them there.

Saturday after work, which was very slow, I passed a guy by my house. He was dressed all in camo clothes, and wore dark shoes, but he looked a bit mentally challenged. Weird freakin people.

Sunday night was ok. Strange requests but different which was good.

My day off on Monday but I have a lot planned. Let's hope all goes good.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

One quick note. We also have a staff meeting at Blarney, more than likely to announce the departure of Dan and the introduction of Chris as owner of the Blarney Stone. My guess is that it won't be a positive one and Chris will try and impose his rule as owner. We'll see....
Blarney wasn't crazy busy like it usually was on Wednesday but it was still ok. I'm still sick but have really caught up on sleep in the last few days. The weather has been weird as well, snow one day, warm the next. I think the worst is behind us.

Dream sequence: Usually I can't remember these past when I wake up but I remember a bit more of this one. Was in a small town in the States. Just an average size town maybe a couple hundred or so. But there was something odd about it, like they were covering up a secret. Never really found out what it was. But then it shifted to my family, where my mom insisted that we go looking for gold nuggets. I told her that I had gotten a map to secret buried treasure but she thought that I was making up a story. Not much more to it than that. I always have bizarre dreams when I'm sick. And this really was no exception.

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Sunday was very slow at Blarney. Some of the Kin games people came in and Nathan Salmon's provincial championship Broomball team, also helped salvage the night. Without these two groups, we would've been a whole lot deader. Monday I did nothing. A bit of running around but overall just sat back and waited as this cold is kicking my ass now. I took a neo citran and I'm heading to bed. Let's hope I feel better tomorrow for it is our first round of playoffs in pool league.

Sunday, March 22, 2009

Thursday at Studio 54 was busy, slow start but was stupid in there. Had a big ass fight in the back by the Glacier bar. I guess it was a bunch of Calgary boys. Oh well....

Friday at Scores was really quiet and I should've taken it off from there to work at Studio. The Kin games were there and it was stupid busy. Alas not much fun for me that day. And Saturday night was again a very slow start but got really busy as it was Trollsfest and then a bunch of Kin gamers came in later on. It was the night that wouldn't end. I'm so tired from it but I guess I'll recover.

Thursday, March 19, 2009

Wednesday was the post St. Patrick's Day party, and as expected Blarney Stone was pretty quiet. I thought it might be a bit busier than it was but oh well. Met 2 really cute girls there. One of them looked like Mariah Carey, so I had to tell her that. :) Otherwise it was quite the uneventful night.

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Tuesday was St. Patrick's day. A great day to have a drink and to try and figure out your existence. Had pool league at Original Joe's and played very well against the number 4 team in the league. We won 3 of 5 rounds which was quite impressive. Worked at Studio 54 and it was quiet. Heard Blarney Stone was packed. Alas, they decided to go with the Chevelles instead.

I really should right down dreams when I have them. All I know it was a great dream but I can't remember any of it right now. Grrr.....

Sunday, March 15, 2009

Wednesday and Thursday were stupidly busy. Good party going on. Not much more to say about that than that. Friday at Scores was ok too, not really busy but I had a lot of fun. Saturday at Studio we continued the Beach Bash weekend, and had our wet T-shirt contest. Was supposed to have 9 contestants, but of course some didn't participate. So we ended up with 4 really and I knew 3 of them. Anyways, most people will think it's degrading but we're not forcing them to do it, and they did ok. Some got a bit topless at the end but hey, they were practically there before with the wet t-shirts. Anyways, had a lot of fun. Trollfest next weekend so it should be a good time as well.

Coment: Why are most of the good ones taken? It's not even that. I hate when they are taken (either married or bf/gf of a long time) and then you hear that back in the day, all they wanted to do is have fun. Grrrr..... why didn't you tell me this back then or earlier??

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Had pool league tonight out in Coaldale. Never played at McLennan's before and it's a pretty cool place. Shot fairly well and won 3 of my games. But it was quite the night. Trevor locked his keys in his car, so in between playing he tried to get the m out. Well, it was bitterly cold out, hovering around -25 or so. Needless to say, he got them out at the end of our pool playing, then he couldn't start it. so we had to get a boost. I was supposed to work tonight but it was too cold and by the time I would've got to work, it was already pretty late. Plus the fact I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't come out. I'm gonna stay home and relax.
Had my first wedding of the season on Saturday. Was a polish friend of mine, Helena Krysa, as she was known as by her maiden name; Eremenko now. Not a typical wedding but more of a reception than anything. Had a slide show and their dances and then the food was served. So in some ways it was almost backwards. Either way, if went really good. People danced and had a great time. When I finished there was a massive snow storm and the temperature dropped to -25 or so with the wind chill being close to -30 or so. BRRRR.

Sunday at Blarney was actually pretty good. Not like it used to be, but ok. Enjoyed my day off today. Stayed up late, and slept all day ! Will sleep in again tomorrow :P
