Worked at Blarney Stone last night. Slow start but was ok. Not liking the fact though that Chris got some staff to request some 'celtic' music. Why not come up himself and request it? I think he wants me to quit or something. And what really floored me is that not even a thank you afterwards.

So I downloaded a video file today of the NHL skills competition and Young Stars game. Total size was 4.37 Gb . Through the site I found it on, I was downloading on average at about 800 Kb/sec and peaked at 1.7 Mb/sec. Took me about an hour and a half. 0_O

That's the fastest I have ever downloaded anything, including the days of FTP at the labs where I peaked at 1.2 Mb/sec. Sick ~!!

Not much really to blog about today but I just had to write down my dream sequence because it was freaky.

Dream: Don't remember much about the beginning of it, but it was very science fiction. Took place in a town very similar to Lethbridge. There were "sinkholes" that would appear and suck everything down in them. But they were almost like vortexs and would be only a certain size and stop at various sizes. I know that doesn't make any sense. I was one who seemed to be in charge of evacuating people from these areas when the time arrived. Don't really remember much else with it. I do recall I was always on the move and couldn't stay still for long. And people lost a lot, homes, possessions and such.

Is it my imagination or has the bar scene gotten a lot rougher?? People are being really stupid and I hope it's not because of the economy. My roommate's boyfriend, who works at Roadhouse, said there was a bottle fight at the beginning of the night last night. *Sigh* At least back in the old days of when I started off in the bar scene, it was a one on one, outside usually. None of this cheap shots, 4 on 1, or even bottles used.

Added post :)

Just downloaded the Richard Cheese discography. Couple of new albums I haven't heard yet so just checking them out. This man is phenomenal. His arrangements are simply divine.
Ok I haven't blogged in almost a week. Been busy. Yeah I know, lame excuse. :)

Worked at Essies' on Saturday for the first time ever. One less bar off my list of places I have worked at over my illustrious career in this town. It was busy but not packed and I kept the dance floor quite busy. I stayed to the mainstream country stuff, that I know and the stuff that I figured people liked. A lot of fun. Monday filled in for the 2nd time ever at Essies. Not as busy as Saturday but I didn't have to worry much about playing a lot of country. Still had a lot of fun there on both nights.

Wednesday was incredibly busy but again, hardly any problems. Dance floor was solid all night. There was a lot of eye candy though, and I enjoyed every minute of it. :D

Thursday at Studio was a total gong show and a right off. Sheree, Shawna and Don all went to the hospital with various injuries breaking up fights. In total I believe there were 6 fights. Ugh. But Josh kept them dancing.

I'm really looking forward to Saturday. My first day off in 2 weeks. And finally, I start at Scores next week on Friday. That should be fun. No dancefloor expected, seeing as there isn't one. Just play some tunes and reminisce.

Well I sort of had a shot of purchasing tickets to the NHL All-Star Game in Montreal via a waiting room today. Tickets were $282.00 just for the weekend package (if I got a chance to get one !!). But after factoring in 3 nights hotel (about $110.00 per night) plus airfare (about $700 minimum), it would've cost me close to $1300, and I cannot afford that right now, plus it'd be on such short notice. Damnit ~!! That would have been worth it though. Ah but it's not like my mecca to the Forum when I went last time. Now THAT was worth it.

Blarney was SO busy again last night. Me and Opi as per usual rocked the house. And what's with Chris and Dan telling us to play more "celtic" music? They are novelty songs. Too much of them and they lose their luster.

Ok so I really hurt now. My ribs are killing me. Sharp stabbing pain. But nothing I can do really, just gotta take it easy.

So the road in front of my place STILL isn't plowed. I'm getting angry over it now. And it's not like it's a side street. It's actually a fairly major traveled one. If nothing is done by Wednesday, I'm calling the city. I wonder if I can send them the wheel alignment bill because of what it's doing to my vehicle.

Complaint: Ok I know cell phones are more multi functional now then before. But what really makes me upset is people who take the time to text you, but won't pick up the phone when you call them a minute later. What's the point of having a phone, if I can't talk to you ?? ANSWER IT !!!!

So it's been a busy last couple of days. Blarney Stone got super busy on Wednesday and not a single problem all night. Seven was there, some men from the Canadian military and the regular assortment of "gangsta" wannabes, and nothing happened between them. Awesome party.

Thursday was pretty much the same at Studio. Toxyk rocked the house as the dance floor was PACKED !!! You couldn't fit anyone else on there. :)

Complaint: I'm not racist or prejudice, but why do they hire people (immigrants) who can't speak english well enough, to work for credit collections or public services. I want to be able to understand them when they call me, not get some jerk-off stumbling over the words as he or she tries to pronounce them, making the entire conversation extremely difficult to comprehend. I guarantee that these type of people would never have jobs at your local bank and such, only when they would talk via phone.

Yesterday was a weird day. My ego got inflated to the size of a hot air balloon. First group of people came into Studio at about 11:30 or so. Bunch of guys that work at the Keg. They wanted to hear their rap and we're obviously on a mission to get drunk. One of them came to me in the booth, named Badges (nickname I'm sure), and was praising me for being the best dj in town, and how he aspired to be as great as me. Thanks for the compliment. :) Then the next group, which was the Kustum Kabz company, had one of the drivers come up and say that he's heard good things of me and my dj ability. Wow. All in one night. I just try and be, well, me. But I always appreciate the good praise. To quote a lyric from a song,

"...it's a fun job but it's still a job...."

Well today was a wash. Paid some bills but was overall bored. I really don't have friends that work the same hours as me. *sigh*

Team Canada won their game and claimed their 5th straight Gold medal. Nice work boys. Went to a house party afterwards. Man did I feel out of place. I knew 4 people there out of 10. And I don't smoke the weed, so I REALLY felt out of place. Had a drink and a shot and then headed to Blarney for a quick drink then off to home. My life sucks.... but I did discover a new song at Blarney that was playing on the Satellite radio.

Moby - Lift Me Up

OMG !! I have a comment to one of my posts !!! YAY ! Someone is actually reading them besides me? Nice !!! Thanks Sara. :o)

Worked last night at Blarney. Wasn't crazy busy but had a few Christmas parties come in as I figured. It'll probably be Christmas parties of Industry places (bars, restaurants, etc.). Me and Opi still rocked the house though, and there was great energy in there. I'd rather have a half full or 3/4 full bar of good energy people than a packed bar of people that don't really want to be there. A day of relaxation today then work tomorrow at Studio. Watching the Team Canada juniors gold medal game later on. Go Canada !!

Happy New Year !! It's officially 2009. What does this year hold, only I will know....

Survived New Years Eve. Blarney was decent but not it's usual busy self as I'm sure that it was spread out over all the bars. I did hear that it was slow everywhere. As for my new year's resolution, I don't really have one. My good friend Opi made an observation. Why is it that people make a resolution at New years?? If you are going to resolve to do things, as in quitting smoking, go to the gym and such, do it when you should, not on January 1st. I think it's because most people think since it's the start of a new year, then it's the best time.

I do know this though, it's the year I really change everything about me. I've been living too long in a dream world and hoping things around me wouldn't change. It's time for ME to make the changes, not the situations around me forcing me to make changes.
